Shelly Lawson & Keri Prather

Shelly Lawson

I have known since I took a Sociology class in High School what I wanted to do when I grew up: Help people change their lives for the better by offering them support and encouragement, and to be a source of hope and validation for people during troubled times. I have spent the past 15 years working in a variety of settings including social services, community mental health clinics, partial hospitalization programs, and managed care. My job titles included Therapist, Social Worker, Quality Improvement, Clinical Supervisor and Program Director.

But the role I enjoy most and have always returned to is that of Therapist. This is the job that motivated me through undergraduate and graduate school, internship, and ultimately through the licensing process. It is such a gift to be able to be part of my clients healing, growth, change and various other journeys. I incorporate a wide range of theoretical orientations and techniques in my practice.
